About Advertising DesignAdvertising Design is an entry level course that is split into two halves, one being traditional Studio in Art and the other a computer based design course in Graphic Design & Advertising. This course is specifically designed to accommodate art students who would like to start their art sequence with a more well rounded foundation, rather than a complete focus on either Studio in Art or Media Arts.
In The Computer graphics half of the year, students will focus on computer aided graphic design and advertising using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. In the Studio portion of the year, students will focus on traditional fine arts which include: drawing, painting, sculpture and other design work. Students who take this class will benefit from all the knowledge, experience, technology and materials of Media Arts and Studio in Art, but in a faster paced, condensed setting. After the completion of this course, not only will students have a well rounded foundation of fine art skills and computer skills, they will be able to successfully advance to the art department’s more challenging courses with a solid background no matter the course. LAYOUT OF THE YEAR The FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR will be spent in the computer lab. The first quarter of the school year will be spent in Adobe Illustrator which is a computer drawing program. The second quarter of the school year will be spend in Adobe Photoshop which is photo editing software. The SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR will be spent on the studio creating fine arts projects using traditional art materials. Helpful Handouts |
